Plastic & Composite Decking
"I'm not sure what kind of deck I have. It isn't
wood...."
No worries, we can take a look and let you know what you have. If not wood, it's either plastic or composite.
Plastic decks are strictly 100% plastic (usually polyvinyl chloride, a.k.a. 'vinyl' or 'PVC'). Composite decks are a combination of plastic and wood particles. Locally, TimberTech / Azek is the most popular 100% PVC decking. Fiberon and Trex are common examples of composite decking.
All brands of non-wood decking require periodic cleaning to look their best and last as long as they should.
"My deck has non-wood railings, too..."
Not a problem. We can clean those right up.
"Somebody got sunscreen on my non-wood deck...."
That's a problem. Sunscreen and many common oils often leave permanent stains on your plastic deck. Their vulnerability to this has been the topic of lawsuits. Unless the oil or grease is instantly cleaned (i.e. within minutes), the stain may be permanent.
